How to use the Reorder or Delete PDF Pages tool
- Choose a PDF. A thumbnail for each page is drawn as you scroll.
- Drag a page to a new position, or press the left and right arrows on its card to move it one step at a time.
- Press the cross on a page to mark it deleted. It fades out and can be restored with the same button until you save.
- Press Save PDF. The new file contains the kept pages in the order shown. Reset returns to the original.
Worked example: cleaning up an 8-page duplex scan
An 8-page scan, minutes.pdf, has blank pages at positions 2 and 7, left behind by a duplex scanner. Press the cross on pages 2 and 7. They fade out and the save button now counts 6 pages.
Press Save PDF. The new file, minutes_organized.pdf, holds the original pages 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8, in that order. To put the signature page (original page 8) first instead, drag it to the start before saving; the cards show both its new position and its original number, so the result would be pages 8, 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Common uses
Typical jobs are removing a blank page left by a duplex scanner, moving a signature page to the end, putting appendix pages after the main text, or dropping the cover sheet of a fax. Reverse order flips a document that was scanned back to front. Because the tool works from thumbnails, you do not need to remember page numbers: look for the page, drag it where it belongs and save.
What the saved file contains
The result is a new PDF built from the kept pages. Page content is copied unchanged, so there is no quality loss, but document-level features that depend on the original page set, such as bookmarks and fillable fields, are not carried over. The labels on each card show both the new position and the original page number so you can always see what moved. Duplicates are not created; to repeat a page, merge the document with itself instead.
Your files stay on your device
Your document is displayed and rearranged entirely in your browser tab. The page thumbnails are drawn locally and the final PDF is assembled in a background worker on your device. No page, image or text is uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a deletion?
Yes. Press the restore button on a faded page before saving, or press Reset to return to the original order and page set.
How many pages can it handle?
Hundreds. Thumbnails are drawn lazily as you scroll, one at a time, so the page stays responsive. Memory on your device is the only limit.
Does dragging work on a touchscreen?
Dragging depends on your browser. The arrow buttons on every card always work and are the reliable way to move pages on touch devices.
Will this change the page content?
No. Pages are copied as they are. Only their order and presence change.
Can I add pages from another PDF?
Not here. Merge the files first with the Merge PDF tool, then reorder the combined document.
